Organic Soapberries (soap nuts)
Soapberries (or soap nuts) are the fruit of the Sapindus Mukorossi tree. Our Soapberries are sourced sustainably and ethically from the Himalayas.
They contain a high level of concentrated soap in the form of saponin and have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.
How to use: Put the equivalent of 4-5 Soapberries into the cotton bag provided, and pop them into your front or top loader with the wash. Because they leave no residue, they can stay in the machine throughout the rinse cycle.
This amount will last about 5 loads of cold washes or 3-4 loads of warm washes. Once the Soapberries become brittle like dried leaves they have no soap left.
You can also put a few Soapberries in a bottle or jar and fill with water, add essential oils of your choice, and shake to make a liquid detergent.
Your soapberries have been purchased in bulk and packed into Ekologi organic cotton muslin produce bags which can be washed and reused for your bulk shopping and grocery puchases for years to come.
Available in 250g, 500g and 1k bags. Each bag comes with a small Soapberry bag and product use information sheet.
If you haven't used Soapberries before, our 250g bag is a perfect trial size and washes approximately 90 loads of washing.
